OHAAA Award Descriptions Pacesetter Award: This award recognizes Executive Officers, Provosts, Advising Administrators and Academic or Student Affairs Officers (i.e., Vice Provosts, Vice Presidents, Deans, etc.) who exemplify a commitment to academic advising and are true advocates for advising, students, and advisors across the institution. Individuals nominated should be an advocate for advising, students, and advisors at the upper administration level. Outstanding Advising Administrator Award: This award is for any individual serving as an advising administrator. Individuals nominated should be an advocate for advising, students, and advisors. Individuals should encourage the growth of academic advising as a profession through contributions to their institution, state, regional, and/or national presentations, publications, or service. Outstanding New Advisor Award: This award is for any individual serving as an academic advisor or faculty academic advisor for three (3) or fewer years, and is employed by a regionally accredited post-secondary institution may be nominated. Three years or fewer is calculated from the nominee's start date in an advising position. Only one nominee per category per institution will be considered. Advising Excellence Award: Any individual serving as an academic advisor or faculty academic advisor for more than three (3) years, and is employed by a regionally accredited post-secondary institution may be nominated.
